South Asian Society
At the start of the year, we used to go to other societies such as Psychology Society, BSL and Healthcare Society. This inspired us to start our own society: South Asian Society.
To fulfil the high demand of bringing different cultures together, we came up with aims for what we wanted to achieve for our society. For example, celebrating different cultures, educating on South Asian culture, and bringing communities together.
Over the weeks, we’ve held a variety of sessions such as: South Asian film industry, languages, influencers, quizzes, and the most popular week was food where we had over 50 people attend – the highest number of people who have attended a single society session in College VI!
We also hosted and organised culture day where we raised over £450 for the charity Save the Children!
In the future, we look forward to continuing with South Asian society and build upon our current successes with more engaging sessions.
