At Riddlesdown, we do not stop at success. Celebrating the successes and developments of our pupils is at the heart of our ethos. On the 12th of September, Riddlesdown Collegiate held a Celebration Evening to award our incredible student body with recognition for their efforts. The evening had its tone set from the ambient lighting and musical performances, including Kieran Gaywood, performing ‘Andaluza’, by Grandos, and the band ‘State Petra’, performing ‘Dark Necessities’, by Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

Welcoming the students to the stage, each Head of College shared the fantastic success stories amongst their cohort for outstanding GCSE results. Students received a gift of achievement, a Riddlesdown pen, presented by the current Head Ambassadors. A long list of names were followed by gasps and applause from the audience after outstanding results. Our A level results did not cease to amaze the crowd, as their results, incredible as they were, were partnered with the destination of their school journey, as slides showed Universities and placements that our A level students had enrolled in. This encompassed the enjoyment of the night, where parents and peers proudly appreciated our students’ success.

Bringing the evening to a close, Soumick Dey, the CEO of the Collegiate Trust, looked back on the years of knowing such fantastic members of the Riddlesdown Community. Chamber Choir’s performance of ‘One Day More’ from Les Miserable left spirits high, and closing remarks were given from our Head Collegiate Ambassadors thanking those involved with making the evening possible. It truly was a memorable event, and an event we look forward to hosting next year.
