At Riddlesdown Collegiate, we have a vast Careers Programme, which can be accessed by all students.

In College VI, we have a Community Page on Google Classroom, where many opportunities are advertised for all College VI students, such as work experience, apprenticeships, personal statement support, and many more. Additionally, we are careers ambassadors, and our role is to help our careers leader, Mrs Hole, with organising events and improving the careers program throughout the school.

Being involved in the Careers Department allows us to develop and learn new skills, which will help us succeed in our future careers. For example, the school organised a mock interview day for the Year 10 students. This involved many different professionals coming into the school to interview each student. The students were asked to bring in their CV and have a few questions ready for the interviewer, to make the experience as realistic as possible, in order to prepare them for their future endeavours.

“The interview day really helped me gain an insight of how interviews work in the real world, which improved my confidence for when I have one in the future” – Aiden, Year 10 Student.
