Year 8 students from all four colleges met representatives from BAE systems who gave a talk and ran a workshop about physics and engineering. Students had a great time looking at different circuits and seeing how science is applied to the workplace. One student commented, “It was great to understand the complexity of science when using it in the workplace. Brings alive the work we do in class.”

Students learned about pathways into engineering and enjoyed the humour of the workshop, “It was really funny! But that helped me to understand the concepts and also how I can remember terminology in future. I think it will help with my exams.”

At Riddlesdown, we welcome organisation to present to students to help them to better understand career pathways and how their subjects apply to the real world. If organisations are interested in working with our students, please context our Careers Lead, Zena Hole.
