Friday Night Lights fundraises £4,500 for the Portugal Rugby Tour in 2025
On Friday 29th November 2024, the school hosted a Friday Night Lights event to fundraise for the rugby tour to Portugal in April 2025. The event was hosted at Trinity RFC and was attended by 100+ players, staff, friends and family of the school.

The evening began with an U18 rugby match between Riddlesdown 1st XV vs. Langley Park Boys 1st XV under floodlights, followed by a seated curry, raffle, auction and Q&A with our special guest Tex Cavubati (Fiji, Worcester, Newcastle & Harlequins). Tax was an inspirational guest who shared his experience of becoming an elite rugby player and told stories of playing for Fiji at two Rugby World Cups. We sold over 800 raffle tickets and had some outstanding items included in the live auction including Oasis tickets and England vs. India cricket hospitality tickets. Our raffle and live auction raised £2,860 and we thank everyone who purchased a raffle ticket and/or bid in the live auction. In total the evening raised £4,500 which means that we can provide the students with an incredible rugby tour to remember in 2025.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed towards the enjoyment and success of the event. A special thanks to Seat Unique for donating the auction tickets, Trinity RFC for hosting the event and to Tex Cavubati for attending as our special guest.
