Collegiate Sports Academy Programme

The College VI sports programmes will provide students with the opportunity to enhance and develop their football and rugby skills whilst receiving an outstanding education. These programmes will run alongside A-level and BTEC courses and allow students to learn, progress and achieve, both on and off the pitch. They will provide students with an incredible chance to pursue their passion for sport, develop life skills and create opportunities for their next steps by working with top, professional coaches. College VI has a strong record of academic achievement and with the introduction of these programmes we aim to continue to combine this success with sporting excellence. Teknika Pro Football Academy

The Teknika Pro football programme offers players between the ages of 16-18 the opportunity to combine an outstanding education at Riddlesdown Collegiate with professional football coaching. The football programme is managed by experienced UEFA qualified coaches with both coaching and playing backgrounds in the professional game. We believe this combination provides an excellent place for players to improve both on and off the pitch, with every player having access to individual support to help them achieve their goals.

Comprehensive pre-season fixture schedule.

An individual development programme designed to meet players’ needs.
Access to our video analysis platform VEO to view recorded games & make individual highlights.

Harlequins Rugby Academy

As part of our continued commitment to providing an outstanding programme of extra-curricular activity, we are fortunate to benefit from a exciting partnership with Harlequins.

The College VI Rugby Academy looks to work with talented athletes enrolled in our specialist Sixth Form, College VI, to develop their potential through specialist training in both 15s and 7s formats of the game, driving excellence both on and off the field. Players combine their participation with a full programme of A-Level or BTEC courses at Riddlesdown Collegiate.

Complimenting The Collegiate Trust’s ambition of ‘Exceptional Education for All’, the programme will encourage and develop qualities such as respect, dedication, integrity, and a desire to perform to their potential as key drivers that will see students excel both in their academic studies and their wider development.

The programme comprises of a comprehensive three term training plan delivers by elite performance and player pathway rugby coaches currently working in the Harlequins Centre of Excellence, Tyrrells Premier 15s and Harlequins Academy environments, which includes:

• Unit specific master classes (front five, back row, half backs, midfield, back three)
• Set Piece (scrum and lineout skills)
• Kicking Clinics (phase play and place kicking)
• Performance Analysis (team review, individual analysis, game management)
• Strength and Conditioning/Nutrition (better living, better playing)
• Sports Psychology (match resilience, dealing with injury etc)
